Review: Kosmonauts re-recorded single Lady Lovesick released April 26th 2019 on These Bloody Thieves RecordsApril 27, 2019

Kosmonauts are a four-piece alternative indie rock band from Manchester. Formed in 2017 Kosmonauts are singer and rhythm guitarist Rob Snarr, bassist Callum Hollingsworth, drummer Dean Chadwick and lead guitarist Jake Pendlebury.

Having gained acclaim for their singles and self-titled EP in 2017, they were featured on BBC Introducing Manchester and have continued to grow their fan base with their music and live gigs. Having played live with some on the North West indie greats, Kosmonauts are the hottest thing emerging in the North West music scene. Showing talent and the real soul of the awesome music that has reached out to the indie world for over 30 years.

Lady Lovesick opens with a techno beep, launches into an indie drum beat pulling in the rumble of a deep bass. Rob’s vocals clean and passionate full of expectation. An immaculate start showing their genuine talent and love of their music, in come the guitars and vocal harmonies pulling your ears deeper in to the track. The chorus crescendos into the magic of an indie riot led by glorious guitars and a full on hi hat drum beat.

Dipping back to a stripped back guitar for the verses, Rob’s vocals stunning with their honesty. But OMG that full and alternative indie chorus is music to your ears. Grungy guitars, banging drums and so much energy. The bass solo pulls us to the last verse, building momentum and blasting out the final chords and harmonising vocals. An anthem of the new age of indie music, Lady Lovesick blasts your ears through a medley of indie awesomeness. It’s a radio track, a live anthem and I love it.

Kosmonauts are a hard-working band, signed to the record label These Bloody Thieves. Having already gigged this year in London and Manchester, check out their socials for up and coming gigs. These Bloody Thieves are a Sheffield based independent record label created by Rob Hirst. These Bloody Thieves also have Third Lung, Moses, False Heads and The C33’s signed amongst others, and it is one of the hottest record label in the emerging indie music scene right now. Having formed in 2018 it has been a fantastic year for These Bloody Thieves and indie music, with an ethos that helps and protects unsigned and emerging artists.
